Mission, Vision, & Values of the Hines Dietetic
Internship
Mission
Through excellence in education, research and service, the Hines
Dietetic Internship will provide experiences in all areas of
Dietetics practice which will prepare competent entry-level
dietitians to provided total nutritional care to meet the needs of
America's veterans as well as the community at large.
Vision
To become an internship known for its quality, innovative
accomplishments, empowerment of interns, and dedication to educating
future practitioners.
Values
Excellence: To provide the highest quality of dietetics
education to our interns so they in turn can provide the highest
quality care to patients.
Customer Service: To operate to fulfill the needs and requests
of our interns, patients, other healthcare professionals, and the
community.
Compassion: To demonstrate empathy and caring toward our
interns, patients and their families, and co-workers.
Commitment: To dedicate time toward preparing entry-level
practitioners by contributing to program planning and evaluation,
which ensures continuous quality improvement in the curriculum.
Through participation in this well integrated curriculum, you
will develop professional competence as well as a strengthened
understanding of dietetics and of thediverse opportunities available
to the professional dietitian.
